The Carlson Chronicle Winter 2002/2003 Welcome to the latest edition of the Carlson Chronicle. Sorry for the late "delivery", but we were waiting on some news: WE ARE EXPECTING AGAIN! We just saw the ultrasound pictures yesterday and everything looks good. Tyler’s little brother or sister is due to arrive on June 28th. We hope things go as smoothly as the first time around. Speaking of babies, Tyler is doing just great. He came into our lives on March 5th and we have loved (almost) every minute since. He now weighs in at 20 pounds and has 7 teeth. He is a crawling speed-demon and is now standing on his own, though no walking yet. Tyler is definitely a people person and a real charmer. He really loves his daycare, which was a huge relief for his parents. Tyler has enjoyed spending time with his relatives. Torie’s brother Brett moved out to California to live with Debbie (one of Torie’s sisters). The two of them have been a huge help in providing babysitting and helping out around the house. Unfortunately for us, Debbie got a great job in Vegas and moved in November, though she still manages to get back often to see Tyler. Craig’s brother Andy helped out for a bit before he relocated to Iowa (for a job) in August, but he too has made it back a few times to see the little guy. We have also enjoyed numerous visits from the grandparents and would like to thank them for all the help and support. Tyler really enjoyed Christmas with both families in town visiting. It has been a little hectic, but it is always nice to spend time with family. What about Tyler’s parents? Well, Torie went back to work in July and continues to enjoy her work at Capital Group. She has tried a few times to get back into swimming, but has found it difficult with the new responsibilities. She promises 2003 will be better in that regard (at least until June). Craig ended his run at MetWest Securities, but is still in the MetWest family, as he has taken the CFO position at MetWest Capital Management, a value equity firm. He’s not sure how long it will last, as he has a 65-mile (one-way) commute down to Newport Beach. Though he negotiated a 3-½ day workweek, so that makes it a little better. He also pledges to visit the gym more in 2003. Both Craig and Torie are enjoying the football season, with USC having a stellar season and the Brown’s still alive in the playoff race (at press time). We also joined La Crescenta Presbyterian Church this year…it is the same place where Tyler’s daycare is located. With the arrival of Tyler, we haven’t had the opportunity to travel as much as in the past, but we did get to take Tyler to Craig’s parents lake house in Ohio for 1 ½ weeks around Labor Day. Tyler got to meet the family and Craig had a chance to catch up with some old friends and take in both a Browns and Indians game. Tyler was an angel on both plane flights, which made the trip that much more enjoyable. We hope that this letter finds all of you in good health and spirits. We encourage anyone to come out and see the baby. Be sure to stop by this website to get new pictures of Tyler, as well as info once the new baby arrives. Happy New Year! This Years Letter
