Volunteer experience |
La Cañada Presbyterian Church (6/92 – Present) Started with various volunteer activities through the Church College Group. After graduation, worked as a volunteer for the Church High School Ministry. These volunteer activities include: § Leading a small group of High School males in bible study for the past two years. § Youth Counselor for numerous Church and Young Life retreats and trips to both weekend and week long camps. § Occasional Volunteer Chef and Youth Leader at Pasadena’s Union Station program for assisting in getting homeless back on their feet. § Volunteer with Amour Ministries for three trips to Mexico that included building housing for those in need and/or working with a local Church to lead a children’s bible school. Swim With Mike at USC (’99 – ’01) Annual participant/swimmer in the charity fund raising for disabled student athletes. Habitat for Humanity – Miami University Chapter (‘93 – ‘96) Active Member of the Chapter, involved in local projects and a Spring Break trip to South Carolina. |

§ Health Information Resource Center’s (HIRC) World Wide Web Health Award – Bronze Award for the redesign of www.bluecrossca.com web site in the category of advertising/marketing information. Andrew Carlson was the Project Manager responsible for managing the redesign effort from the requirements phase through implementation. Due to resource restraints, Andrew also fulfilled the Information Architect role for this project. |
