Under Employed Border Collie
2005 5 x 6.5" ~ 12.75 x 16.5 cm Hand Pulled Serigraph Print, 11 stencilsEdition 60 ~ Artist Proofs 7I took this picture of Laika playing with a stick, when I was photographing him for another piece. Later that winter when the temperature was dipping into the –30’s, and we were not taking the dog out for his regular exercise, and most of his outside toys were put away so that they would not get buried under the snow, the dog was becoming very restless and destructive. Laika is a border collie, and these dogs are bred to herd sheep, they need a lot of exercise. We were looking at this hyper dog, and my husband said, “What we’ve got on our hands right now, is an under employed border collie.
