Tips on taking Good Photos

Outside is the ideal place for taking photographs of your pet. This will show the details to best advantage. If you are outside, do not use a flash because it tends to flatten out detail. The only exception to this would be if the sun is directly behind the animal, then you will need a flash or you will only get a silhouette. Inside with very bright lights from several different sources is also good. It is helpful to have a friend or family member wave a treat, or toy, in the vicinity of your pet, as this will give it a more alert and animated appearance. Always photograph your pet at eye level. I go down on one knee when photographing cats and dogs. Take lots of pictures, at least one roll. The more you have to choose from, the better the pet portrait. Send all the photo's you can, as I may combine the best elements from more than one photograph, I will return the photo's when I am done. For people living in the Timmins area, I can photograph your pet for an additional fee.
