Facing Death

I remember a long time ago
A friend of mine once said,
"You have to enjoy life
Don't be afraid of being dead.

See, life's a real hassle
It can really be a pain,
What with poverty, and war,
And that damn acid rain.

You can't let them get to you
Or you'll never be happy,
Never get to smell the roses,
Or experience being free.

Though I'm going to die soon,
My conscience is clear.
I've no regrets to claim,
And so I've got no fears.

Well he's passed away now
Died in the most natural way.
Still, I remember his last words,
Like it was today.
