Contemporary and modern landscape paintings by the award winning Canadian artist Carol Rath that have been inspired by the high altitude deserts of northern New Mexico and Peru.

On the left, "The Altiplano Near Arequipa" (1.0m x 1.2m,acrylic)is one of several paintings from Peru that was featured in Carol's recent exhibition.

Carol Rath has been a professional artist for over 10 years. Every year she visits New Mexico to paint and sketch outdoors, sometimes with local artist friends.Recently she moved to Lima, Peru where she has become fascinated with the mountains and deserts of this country. Earlier this year, Carol had a solo exhibition of her work which featured paintings from New Mexico (still her first love), and from Peru.

Often her most satisfying work is done in the quiet isolation of her studio.
