Welcome to my section on Myrtle Beach and surrounding areas. I get so many e-mail asking for advice for where to stay, where to eat, what to do, that I've finally put together a section with all my travel tips in one place, for your viewing pleasure. I've been traveling to Myrtle Beach since I was about 12 years old, for our summer's week vacation. Now that I'm all grown up and married, my husband and I (sometimes even with my brother and parents) still continue to take our summer vacations here in the Myrtle Beach area. I've watched Barefoot Landing being built, Broadway at the Beach being built, and have been to the area before there were even a lot of golf courses. The airport was a completely military airport when I started going, and now it is an international one. It's definitely true that the area has grown and changed. That brings some good and bad things together. In these pages you'll find my tips for avoiding the crowds wherever you go, enjoying your meals, and venturing out beyond the MB area. These pages contain a lot of different things. If you are here for my travel tips and stuff, look under the lodging, restaurants, and to do pages. If you want to see photos, you can go to the Brookgreen Gardens section, the Magnolia Plantations section, the Charleston section, or the general MB area photos section. One thing to keep in mind: I am not a big night clubber or golfer, so I'm afraid to say I don't have any real "where the party is" tips, or "best golf courses" tips. Although my dad is an avid golfer, and is in the area 2-3 times per year - so there may come a section on golf courses at a later date. Enjoy!
