Hi, Debbie
You have got such an impressive web-page! You might think that 2 weeks spent together almost 10 years ago does not build much of a friendship, but reading your poems I saw you clearly exactly the way I remember you - and much more. Some of the moods in yo
r poems sound vaguely familiar - the pain, the difficulties, disappointments of life...I haven't told you the most important thing about myself - I am a Christian. Not a regular church-goer, and don't belong to a home group (maybe one day), but I read the
Bible daily and, Debbie, the world is a different place. I don't have enough words to describe to you the difference. Well, I have always been fascinated by the spiritual side of things - I have tried Yoga and some such stuff, but it never worked, in fact
it only made my confusions worse, my nightmares more unbearable. I still remember the first time I opened The Bible. I must have been 21. Can you believe that there are people in this world who haven't had access to The Bible for the first 21 years of the
r life? Debbie, the only way I can relate this is with imagery - imagine yourself in a dark room, cluttered with objects, most of them quite sharp and hurting - but you don't know which - and you also don't know what you are supposed to do and where to go
but you are in a terrible hurry, in case you just miss it. And you run and stuble and fall and get hurt, and get up again to run and stumble and fall again. You want to get things, and the minute you get hold of something, you hate it. And although your
nergy is burning out, you don't acieve anything, but the clock is ticking mercilessly. Well, enough of that - I think you could say it better than I. But there is another world, and it is just a handbreath away. Not some fake way of self-perfection, not o
livion and meditation - I hope no one is getting hurt here, but I have tried it, and IT DOESN'T WORK! I also hope I don't sound like a newly converted fanatic - but I have faith and the roots are deep. By faith in God I have been able to get through every
hing so far, and for an Immigrant from Eastern Europe to start a new life in a foreign country it hasn't been always easy. Now we live well, much better thai I ever imagined. Despite recession, despite the fact that only one of us is working and numerous
ther tiny problems. But my faith is not based on the things that I have, it is based on the things that await us. And I have the confidence that the things that God has prepared for those that love Him are much more glorious than anyone can ever imagine.
ebbie, may God bless you and your family with His wonderful love and protection - with blessings that you haven't been able to dream of. Whatever happens, just remember, God's love for us is so strong, once you get hold of Him, nothing can ever stand in b
tween to frighten or endanger you or those you love most.
Yoanna
