SRASSHA

Danny Scavuzzo 1996

experimental 16mm color 8:30 mins

SYNOPSIS

SRASSHA reflects my thoughts and my memories of a childhood spent under the influence of Catholicism. It deals with the inner turmoil of who I am and where I've come from.

The woman wipes the steam from the mirror and reflects upon herself and all that she has learned and endured. The child stares back at the woman reflecting upon herself. The reflected image of the child is lost innocence and the woman is Srassha. She is the only one who can take care of herself and this is the realization.
