The Nine of Coins is traditionally held to signify financial well-being and prosperity for the querent.
The Chalice pack in practise, has always found this not to be entirely the case. The Nine of Coins never actually seems to indicate penury or destitution for the client, but it never seems to promise millions either, although there may be windfalls of a small nature on the horizon.
What it generally signifies is that the querent needs to be able to husband what resources there actually are wisely; thus a little will always go a long way. In this sense, the card will dispose of any fears of poverty or of debt. This is actually in keeping with what has been said about the number nine; here it tells us that it is not what one has which is of importance, but what is actually done with whatever there may be.
Negatively, the card suggests that financial difficulties may result through misjudgement in these matters.
