This card traditionally denotes happiness through celebration with friends, and the card symbolism in the Chalice pack does not deviate from this theme. Here, threeness -at least, superficially - becomes solidarity rather than rivalry - individuals coming together who share the same points of view on many things.
This card may well indicate a period of partying or socialising for the querent whenever this card appears in a spread. The attention may be focused on extroverted activities. Pleasure and hedonism are both likely to be on the cards; the emphasis here is on "play" rather than "work".
Yet the depth of the Cups may suggest that there is more to the situation than meets the eye. The querent needs, perhaps, to differentiate between fair-weather friends, who may represent a considerable source of dissipation as well as disappointment, particularly if they are not true friends, and those who may have greater depth, and are therefore more likely to have less scattered loyalties.
