Background

This is by no means a list of my Favorites
Such a list would take weeks to write.

Instead this is a listing of those very rare few works
that have seriously influenced me and my artwork

And for anyone that's interested,
All of these artists, authors and videos listed here
can be found thru the Amazon.com Search Engine
at the bottom of this and every page of this site.

...Artists

On the set of Alien
  • H.R. Giger. What can one say about Giger? Words are just not enough
  • Rodan. Agony etched forever in stone...
  • Frank Frazetta. I grew up reading fantasy novels, and one thing I remember about most was the cover art. I learned the name Frazetta REAL early in life.
  • The Brothers Hildebrant. Like Frazetta, I can’t recall a time I didn’t know of the Brothers Hildebrant.
  • Boris... the third Musketeer

  • ...Authors

    HP Lovecraft
  • Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The grand master of all that is unusual. If you have read Lovecraft, you already understand; if you have not... I feel your pain.
  • Brian Lumley. Lovecraft reincarnated. Need I say more?
  • John Christopher. One of the earliest works I remember reading was something called "The White Mountains", back in grade school. It turned out to be the first in a trilogy by Mr. Christopher, a trilogy which I still own to this day. Folks, if you like really good, old school science fiction, go find this set. It’s still in print, and even though it’s geared for a younger crowd...well, trust me.

  • ...Movies

    it was the dragon...
  • Alien. Scared the Piss out of me, and also introduced me to H.R. Giger. Aliens 2 & 3 were lame, but the first one, the true ALIEN, still is my favorite to watch...in a darkened room.
  • In the Mouth of Madness. If Lovecraft had ever made a movie, this would be it. Based on his work, this classic managed to convey all the twisted realities that were Lovecraft, without copying a single item from his work!!! My hats off to John Carpenter for this extraordinary tribute!
  • Sleeping Beauty Yup, I'm not kidding. One of my earliest memories (I think I was 5) was standing up in the theater, pointing at this monstorous 100 foot black flaming dragon, and saying YEAH!!!!!!!!
