I like your website design.. as well as your
poetry esp. Children's Plea...
I have attached some of my poems. Tell me if you
will put them in your site...
Bird Island
Mirrors in your eyes
pools of blood
behoove and basks
in the pale lucid lake .
You held your spear
tin drum and net
in the breakwaters of Bird Island.
You issued your bird calls
as you sail in your canoe eastward
where the Tao Tao’s whispers
signify a sign of deliverance.
I see the mirrors in your eyes,
turning into brakish mud.
You stumble into the firewalls
yet you never give up.
You carry your spear high up
into the clouds.
Your grave countenance
float along the landscape
and sink into the depths.
You become cerberus
with a cobra clout
ready to pounce
pull and push.
I could see your fertile
Chamorro blood
fattening the fishes.
You are the arrow straight and solemn
This cradle of civilization---
innocent and innocuous...
I remember holding you
as you sway yourself
in a state of divine direction.
I knew you are sought after
but I have not forgotten
Bird Island’s mirrors and mysteries.
Old Man and the Sea
Sitting in the gnarled branch
feet straddling
I saw the Old man talking in soliloquy
with bark breath and humid voice.
He had splotchy skin, algae ears
birds nesting on his crown.
(reminding me of poet Francisco Balagtas)
I assumed he spilled his silences
perfunctorily in the symphonies of the sea.
He is neither a Wagnerian wailer
nor is he a Schoenberg siren.
He is more like Hemingway
watching the sunset in the wharves of Cuba.
He was in the armpit of Kagman
down south of Saipan.
He bellows and belches
breaking the great divide.
His lullabies loll me to slumber
as I saunter into this sanctuary.
A brown rock rooted
into damp soft soil.
He stood mighty proud
flexing his fixations
over the cruel crevices of stone and sand.
I kicked him once and hit sand in his eye
He laughed and then
I spat at him and he smiled.
I stoned him and he sighed and sat solemnly
as I deluged him with my diatribes.
He was still and swallowed it all in.
He knew what I knew.
He knew too what I thought I knew.
He was the Old Man by the Sea.
Beaten by the sea’s beauty,
He becomes more beautiful each day
onward forward and now backward
He is still he. I close my eyes.
I still see him standing there
staring at me. He opened my eyes
as I knew his silences
were not encrypted codes
but simple answers
as I pass through the sea.
Merong ligaya at lumbay
kumuha ka ng kutchilyong matulis
itanim mo ang dagok at dugong mapait.
Pakinggan mo ako, kaibigan
walang kahihinatnan ang tumangis
lumuha at lumuhod sa hilahil.
Lumbay ay pansamantala, marahil din si Ligaya.
Ngunit huwag kang magalala
iyan ang kagandahan ng buhay
Maluwag masikip mahapdi masarap
maraming akya’t panaog na pangyayari.
Gumising ka sa iyong sinapupunan
humawak sa sa kamay ng oras.
Iwasiwas ang nagdurugong puso
lumakad ng diretso at hubad.
Wala kang malay sa mundo
Ito ang dapat maging isaisip.
Ito ang lantad na katotohanan.
‘wag ka nang magtago sa dilim.
Kunin mo ang aking kaluluwa
Huwag ka nang mag-alinlangan pa.
Ito ay nailaan para sa iyo
Masikip maluwag man ang aking daigdig.
Hope you like the three poems. The other poem is
written in tagalog, "Masikip Maluwag ang aking
daigdig" and I have an english translation.

Wanna hear my poem for you? OK you ready? *S*
LOVE WITHOUT
3.AM ON SUNDAY NITE
I LAY IN BED WITHOUT A LIGHT,
STARING BLINDLESSLY AT THE MOON,
HOPING THAT I CAN TOUCH YOU SOON,
AS I GAZE AT THE MESTERY OF THE STARS
IT MENDS THE WOUNDS, IT HEALS THE SCARS,
AND ALL THE MY DREAM THEY SEEM TO COME TRUE,
FOR AT THIS MOMENT I HAVE YOU,
AGAIN AND AGAIN, I KNOW
I KNOW IT'S NOT FAIR,
FOR IT'S ONLY NOW THAT I FOUND YOU,
THOUGH YOU WE'RE ALWAYS HERE,
THE BEAUTY OF THE SEA
CAN'T COMPARE WITH YOUR SMILE,
JUST ISN'T WORTHWHILE,
YOU SPEAK ON THE NET, YET I SEE YOU WITH ME
YOUR VOICE IS A TREASURE THAT~
SHALL REIGN ENDLESSLY,
OVERCOME WITH THE EMOTION,
OVERWHELMED BY YOUR GRACE,
DISTINCT WITH THE BEAUTY,
THAT APPEARS AS YOUR FACE....
WELL? MIKE i hope you like it:D i must go now as i need to get some sleep and get up early in the morning for school:P see ya big hugs Love ya laways too!!!!
