If You Listen

If You Listen

If you listen, listen alone.
In crowds no man can hear.
Abjure comrades, slay your kin
All beyond your skin
Must be a lieand die.
Only then you can descend
Upon the sea that laps within.
No religion, no emotion,
No salvation and no sin.
The footsteps of the sand
Across the finger of a stone
Is a pulse whose clang
Eclipses this:
A tidea songa blood
That beats the trembling world,
Whose sole lyric isBegin
