MAXWELL JONES IS GOING SOMEWHERE TONIGHT
HIDERS IN THE HOUSE
First scene: A family comes home after a long day away. Everyone is getting settled in when there is a sudden scream and kids come pouring out of every corner of the house racing for the exit.
In a town known for having teenagers play hide-n-go-seek in houses other than their own, a burnt-out NY detective searches for a group of kids that have quite literally disappeared.
THE PORTRAIT OF CORDEALIA FAIR
A knight named Cormack comes to a wrecked castle whose inhabitants have fled. He spots a painting of a young, beautiful woman. Then a man comes out, and explains that she is the Daughter of the lord of the castle, and he is a servant to them. The knight sets out to pursue the kidnappers and to rescue the them. Along the way the servant talks about all the good qualities of his mistress, and the knight finds himself falling in love with the woman in the picture.
After a great deal of trouble he defeats the kidnappers and rescues them only to find that she is nasty, crude and quite a bit different from her picture. After a sharp word for the servant, he leaves.
And he takes the portrait with him.
BATTLE OF THE CENTURY
Two little kids start playing at being superhero and then begin to change INTO the heroes their playing at. They go at it with increacing ferocity until one yells out: "OOOW!, YOU HIT MEEE, I'M TELLING MOMMIEE!" and again, they are two little kids, one running to his mommy, and one staring at the cardboard box that was his helmet.
THE DARKER IMAGE
A man who lost his father to an auto accident when he was a child goes back in time to save his father's life. When he returns he learns what difference that his father make in this life as he meets this timelines version of himself. He's a yuppie scum junior executive who does not appreciate all the opportunities that this life has given him.
So the first man decides to take over the life that his duplicate is wasting. He decides to tell him about it first.
And there is where the story begins
BEYOND THE POINT OF KNOWN RETURN
fourteenth century captain drives his crew and his ship off the map and literally over the mythical edge of the earth. There they travel the islands that dot the "ocean" that this medival earth is floating in. They of course have a few mysteries to solve and a few maidens to rescue before the can set the map of the world correct.
Think of a mix of Edgar Rice Burroughs and the old KANSAS album cover.Then add a calico covered sabertoothed tiger.
