In Honor of You

It’s an emotion these things that run through my head
the connection between the heart and the mind
It’s the simplest things made pure and real
and a map to the worlds hard to find

From the endurance of love to the revealing of truth
and the existence of things we don’t know
From the power of God and the touch of His hand
and the beautiful love He bestows

I write as I feel and I feel as I write
whether sad or happy or true
I relay the love of my Father above
and for Him it’s the least I can do

But I can’t come about with the words that I write
without the love and support of my peers
And I can’t be alone, I can’t be afraid
without someone to calm my fears

So I write these words while thinking of you
and everything that you are
I can’t even begin to thank you enough
so instead I give to you the stars

May the love of our God continue to bless you
from the beginning to the end of your days
And may He shine as a light upon your path
as you’ve done for me in so many ways

So I’ll continue to write for as long as I can
and as long as my Father sees through
He lives for me so I’ll give back to Him
and I’ll do it in honor of you.
