About the Artist

Marguerite Boyer lives in Kemptville, Ontario. Her philosophy of art is best summed up in the words of Lawren Harris:

"Each Artist does unfold, come to his or her own particular fulness. We but endeavour to be ourselves, deeply ourselves; then we approach the precincts of Great Art - timeless".

In pursuit of this ideal, Marguerite works with a passion and attention to detail which informs all her varied projects. With a background in a wide range of artistic fields, from computer clip-art to hand-painted furniture decorated in Celtic motifs, she has found expression in pencil, water colours, acrylics and oils. Her work expresses herself, her spiritual, emotional and social growth in experience and insight. Her methodology and format adapt themselves to the themes and subjects with which she involves herself. Her aim is to be real, honest, and to avoid any approach or style which might pander to the simplistic or superficial. Her art speaks of her life, her beliefs and her passion, while remaining accessible and free of cant or jargon. Marguerite Boyer is real and true to her vision of what the artist should be in the world in which we live.
