Title: Someone Else
Author: Jennifer Frankenfield
She comfortably sits in peace without pain,
she undoubtedly surfaces out of nowhere.
It is as if she is someone else-
a stranger perhaps?
The enemy nonetheless.
Not before long she will sing the song of rage.
He will come to compare her to a shaft of lightning,
as lightning spurts then passes.
No wonder the pain she inflicts upon him-
no wonder.
He loves someone else-
someone eminently distant now.
However, he can not seem to find her,
she is no longer.
The years pass-
The enemy is now here often.
He contemplates his staying,
but quickly ends up straying-
why couldn't she be that someone else?
