"Vegimagination"
by Stephen R. Graham
Pentax MZ/ZX-5 with Pentax FA* 85mm F1.4 on Fuji SuperG 800.
1/90s at F2, handheld. Colour adjusted by printers (Robet Lam) to compensate for tungsten lighting.
This is one of the results of my first ever attempt at photographing
an indoor performance, and is a results of information gleaned in the
"Shooting a dance performance" thread on the Pentax User Group a few months
back. The advice was that I should get the FA* 85mm F1.4 as the ideal lens
for this type of situation, and that is what I did.
The dance was a performance of "Vegimagination" at the Hong Kong Cultural centre,
by the students at the ballet school my daughter attended. The theatre didn't allow
photography, so I was lifting the camera to my eye and shooting quickly, to avoid
detection - lucky the MZ5 is so quiet!
