Palmares Skyline By Roberto Burgos Palmares is a small town east of San Jose (Costa Rica) Population is less than 10,000, mainly agricultural (coffee and sugar cane plantations). I shot this pic from "Cerro Espiritu Santo" (Holy Ghost Mount) at dusk, with my PZ1P and FA 28/200 3.5-5.6. Mounted on Slik 444 tripod with standard head. Hyper Program with spot metering, measured mid sky (where the high cloud is) and underexposed 2 stops. Used 2 sec timer (mirror up lock) to shoot. Exposure about 8 seconds at 5.6 (lens set near 35 mm). Scan is from test print (4x6). I ordered a 12 x 18 print. At this time of the year in Costa Rica (just 10 deg. north of the Equator), Venus is the first "star" in the sky. It shows on our western skies as early as 5 p.m. Venus is not David's Star and Palmares is not Bethelhem, but this pic makes a nice postcard for the Christmas Season. Comments?
