Those nutty Finns! They have incorporated a lot of English into their language, but Finnicized it!
First let me say a huge thank you
Thank you!
to my dear friend Dee for all the language assistance!
For starters, the word
"dork"
--and a handy word it is--
has been Finnicized into "DORKA"
Is this classic or what!
Here's some Finnish abbreviations you can start working into
your daily dialogues:
jne--in place of "etc."
This means "ja niin edelleen."
-
esim.--in place of "for example" or "e.g."
It is short for "esimerkiksi"
-
n.k.--"niin kutsuttu" for "so-called"
Thus, you can incorporate these n.k. Finnish lessons into
your daily routine,
esim., talking to coworkers, writing to friends, jne.
Remember, Finnish is your Friend!
