Holiday makers can now have a genuine taste of the real "old Flanders", with the recent restauration of "Den Haegepreeck", a romantic old Flemish farmhouse near Oudenaarde. Completely and sympathetically renovated, it offers the discerning holiday maker a unique historical holiday experience.

To ensure a relaxed and trouble-free holiday, some modern improvements have been included, such as a fully equipped modern kitchen and bathroom, and central heating. However, during the renovation of this farmhouse, built in 1805, considerable care has been taken to ensure it retains its original charm and architectural character.

"Den Haegepreeck" is situated in the "Geuzenhoek" (the Protestant's corner) in Horebeke. Close to Ghent (+/- 30 km) and surrounded by the beautiful green landscape of the Flemish Ardennes, it would make an ideal base from which to explore some of the most interesting and undiscoverde parts of Belgium.

From "Den Haegepreeck" you can visit the historical Protestant village centre, but there are also many other interesting sights in the area around Horebeke. You can explore this picturesque surrounding by foot, bicycle or car and enjoy the typical Belgian beer cafés and the charming restaurants of all categories within immediate surrounding. Your host or hostess will be delighted to offer you a welcoming drink and tell you more about things you can do during your visit.

Anyone who appreciates flowers will enjoy the garden in the summer, which is a blaze of color, with numerous flowering hydrangea, hollyhocks, geraniums, lavender and a small herb garden.

It should also not prove difficult to enjoy staying inside on cold or wet days - with its old stone floor, exposed beams, and pool table the farmhouse has a charming and very welcoming atmosphere. It has been authentically furnished and has a cosy living room, a snug dining area and three bedrooms up in the old beamed roof.

The farmhouse is equipped for children of all sizes and sleeps 7 to 8 people:

• one bedroom with a double bed (2,20 m x 1,80 m)
• one bedroom with one  bed  (1,15m) and a baby-cot (up to age 3)
• one bedroom with one single and one large single bed (1m20)

These rates are valid the whole year. Everything is included. No meals are served.
