At the bottom of the hill I turned right) cars to my left and caves to the right I began walking) Not past the third door I saw the reflection of a lantern, two, in the wet street) They quickly passed) I heard the horses move down the street and I could smell the rubber) I was sure they had seen the trail behind me)
I spun around) For sure! The bright blue tracks shaped like my soles were pointing right to the place I hated) I avoided them) Walking in the grass made them less visible)
When I realized I wasn't where I was I looked up) I estimated about six miles had passed) Maybe it was four blocks) I twisted my body until I had pushed the street in to my vision) I saw glowing lines and lanterns sliding down the street, in pairs) People came out of the squares in buildings) One ran into me) He tried to overt his eyes but he saw the blood on my hands) I quickly slid them into my pockets) He tried to make me think he hadn't seen) He called me a sod) He's lucky I was already done)
As I was almost free from the colors I heard foot steps behind me) Someone was trying to get my money) I tried to act like I didn't hear them) I spun around drawing my sword) They knew I was turning) I saw no trace of them) They were obviously professional) I was then afraid) What if they did me over? I turned and continued walking the way I had been) It took only moments before they began to pursue me once again) Right after passing a small alley I again spun around) Not quite quick enough I saw the edge of their clock flash past the corner) I knew I wasn't just hearing things now) After I began walking I didn't hear the steps again) The must have decided I was too good for them) That built confidence)
I continued down the pavement) I stopped under a blue square) I leaned against the pole it stood on) A young man stepped from the house across the street) He began walking towards me as if to say something) He was obviously related to him) He wanted revenge) He knew it was me because he could smell the blood on my hands) I decided he wouldn't stray far from is home so I turned from him and began to stroll away) I heard his steps behind me) I walked and listened)
When he was almost upon me I spun) I must complement him for he was quick in hiding the dagger) I still saw it because he had holes straight through him) He had red hair) He wore blue jeans, a black shirt and a grey jacket covered in chains, pins, and spikes) He had a visible studded bracelet) His lip was pierced)
When I had turned he acted as if he hadn't been stalking me) Besides hiding his weapon he pretended to jump) He stopped walking)
I said to him -You wish to challenge me?-
He acted as if innocent and cried -What? Are you drunk?-
He thought I didn't know) -You think you can avenge your kindred? What is done, now is done)-
-Calm down) Just let me pass)-
I pretended he wasn't sent to kill me and allowed him to walk past) I let him get a little ahead of me and began to stalk him) He walked for a few more cars and went up on a porch) On the porch I saw his chief) She didn't look to insimilar to he) She tried to kiss him, but he saw me and took her inside)
Feeling rather superior I waked away in charge) Not knowing where I was anymore I walked past a man) I didn't look at him) Instead I shielded my eyes) He was putting explosives in a package) When he saw me he stood up and started following me) He was following the foot prints) I knew it) I heard him getting closer so I fastened my pace) Again I had to speed up because of the pursuit) When I was really getting worried I saw a cemetery) I turned into the grounds knowing that no unholy man like he could follow) He passed because he didn't see me enter) I had outsmarted him)
Looking around I saw rows of headstones) In front of each was a blue person) They didn't mind me) Traveling on the roads I saw someone standing in front of one of the sitting blue people) They handed them flowers) I tried to leave that alone)
As I was passing a stone with no blue, I stopped momentarily) Just then an arm sprang out of the ground) I only watched) It was followed by another arm) Then a head came out) Not just any head, His head! This was then followed by his body) I told him he couldn't hurt me, that he was in the place I hated, and he wasn't even here, but he disagreed) I took off my shirt and, using my lighter, lit it on fire) I could feel my skin burning) I threw it on him) I didn't put in out even though it hurt because it hurt him more) I could tell) He dug a hole for himself to reside in and I flew)
Making my way to the other side I realized the blood on my hands was gone) When I got near the exit the gates closed) I was trapped! I lept onto and began climbing the fence) As I neared the top, the crowning spikes turned on me) They first bent slowly to the side then began to jet downward) I took one through my hand) I began to scramble) Right before I got to the top, one slid between my collar bone and my shoulder blade) My arm went limp, but I made my way over the top)
I somehow landed on the other side) Stumbling around, covered in blood, I turned toward the bridge) When I thought I was almost there, and unstoppable, the last sewer grate on my street popped off it's hole it was covering, and a chair climbed out) It had a red cushion on it) The wood was stained) The chair began to chase me) I ran for a few blocks) When I was about to give in a police care drove by) The chair had to escape them and began to flee for it's life)
The police car, realizing who I was stopped quickly and spun to one side) They knew what I had done) They were looking for me) I saw the barrel protrude from the rear window) I wasn't quick enough) A bullet hit my shoulder) One bullet hit my stomach) A bullet hit my head) One more struck me, but I didn't care where because the others hurt too much) I fell on the ground)
When the car was no longer audible I stood up) and started walking) I held the cross bar in one hand and gripped the spool in the other) I began running) I let go) When the kite reached the end of the rope I just let it go) I was staring at the blue sky) It made me think of my dead wife)
I continued back toward the bridge) I passed the firehydrent safely) I stepped on the bridge) I felt the breeze from the current below) It was moving pretty quickly)
I jumped) As I was falling I looked at the cars below) Then, as if to make room for me, they stopped) I watched the yellow lines grow) They grew) And they grew) They and Grew) They grew and) Grew and they) Grew they and) And they grew)
-Stop that)- Joe said)
I spun around from my window, letting go of the bars) -I'm sorry)- I walked to my bunk, under his, sat down, lied down, and fell asleep))
