Hello!
My name is Evi Parissi and I live in Piraeus Greece. This is my personal home page which is dedicated to the ancient art of marbling.
Since I was a child I have been enchanted by color. Color possesses almost magical qualities for me and sometimes simply mixing watercolor paints and applying them to paper is enough to calm and relax me.
Marbling is an art, the success of which is very much dependent on the use of color. I first became acquainted with a very simple kind of marbling at a craft fair in Oxford and fell instantly in love with it. This love at first sight lasted long enough to end up in marriage when I finally learnt more about this fascinating art and managed to produce my own marbled papers. What is absolutely fantastic about marbling is that no matter how much control you have gained over it you can never make two sheets of paper alike. Control and luck are there together (although there are times that they are both absent !!!) making a wonderful combination.
Although you will find some information about what marbling is and how it is done my intention is not to teach you marbling but merely acquaint you with it and hopefully inspire you with the love and enthusiasm to learn more about it, or simply appreciate the work of those who have perfected the art.
So, roll up your sleeves and get ready for a messy but rewarding marbling session!
