| The church in the photo was build in 1608-1613 and was abandoned during the first year of 1800 when a spring welled up through the floor. |
| In 1983 the director Tarkovskji shot inside it some scenes of his movie Nostalghia. In that period the church was wonderful, with the white wall still standing up and the water as a floor. When I casually found the church it was, as you can see in the photo, in much worse conditions: |  |
| some doors and some windows were walled up and walking inside was dangerous. |

Now a piece of the roof has collapsed, the walls
leans to one side and all the church is surrounded with corrugated iron:
nobody can enter and above all nobody can see it We are waiting for the church to die. |
