VENICE - VENEZIA
In an effort to try to get something on these pages, I am going to just let you all see the photos and give an explanation later as I get time.
Two photos from Venice. I think the first won was taken from a watertaxi on the way to the Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square). The second one was taken after we all ready got there and were waiting for the women to get done picking over a merchant's stand.
Here are images from the Ponte dei Sospiri (Bridge of Sighs). The bridge was built in the year 1600 to connect the Doge's prisons with the offices of inquisition in the palace. The phrase "bridge of sighs was a reference to the sound the prisoners made as they crossed the bridge to the executioner.
Here are a few photos taken at St. Mark's Square in Venice. If you have already visited other parts of my pages then you may already know that the winged lion is the Evangelist Symbol of St. Mark.
