Introduction (by Josh McKee)

Hello, and we're back. Due to lack of funds, we have been forced to rely on less-than-ideal printing equiptment.

This will take some getting used to. We decided to restart The Plug, because even though support for it has been down, there are many issues which we feel should be addressed at CHS.

Please pass any submissions along to me - if you don't know who I am, just ask one of the teachers at CHS, they'll most likely be able to describe me.

Also, keep it short - we have limited space. As long as my printer ribbon holds up, The Plug will be printed.

Bathrooms Closed (by J. McKee)

Recently, several bathrooms at CHS have been closed due to "vandalism". The nature of this vandalism, for those of you who don't know, is that some unsavory individual has been "doing his duty" on the floor.

Now, I tend to wonder what was going through this guy's mind:

"Well, I could drop my load in the toilet, or I could just use this nice floor," (plop plop plop) "Whoopsie me, looks like I missed".

There should be some kind of test to rake out idiots like this. I mean, DOGS crap on the ground. PEOPLE use toilets. We don't go around smelling each other's butts and drinking out of rain buckets, so why should we be marking our territory?

I fyou know who's doing this, I strongly encourage you to report them to the CHS administration so that they can be dealt with. Even if it's your best friend, or a group of your friends, this kind of sick behavior can't be tolerated any further.

To trash, or not to trash... (by Yoshi)

First off, I'm glad to say that The Plug is back in progress and is still just as dandy. I'm happy to see it back, and as always, I'll be glad to write for it; of course, I've been waiting since Vol. 1 Issue 2 for Ten Pas to make some snide remark with his name on it; maybe now it's time for the Best of Both Worlds.

Anyways. Let's talk about something which has affected us within the last few years (or for the freshmen, the first few months): the status of the hallways, and our (the students, of course) right to eat in the hallways.

I don't see why we can't: the administration of Corvallis High School say it's due to the fact that "students aren't respecting the halls and carpeting," but I see the students as doing a decent job of maintaining the halls plus keeping the carpet clean.

In addition to that, what happened to our janitorial service? Did they all commit suicide? I see none of them maintaining the cleanliness of the hallways... plus, if you show up in their "office" to tell them there's a spill of some sort, they tell you "Go clean it up yourself; here's a mop." Uhh, woul someone please explain the irony of this? The only full-time janitor I've seen is Beth Madison...

Maintaining the halls is not difficult; seems to me maintaining the BATHROOMS is a more important problem; heck, belly-button lint is more important than the "color of the hallways." I see the new hallways as bright-blue, the old as medium-blue. Is this bad? How about we just bleach both.

Though, I do think the students should pick up after themselves, making sure to throw away garbage and recycle pop cans; and during this time, where's the money taxpayers pay to the schools going? Easy: a bunch of guys dressed in blue or tan pants and shirts, sitting in the boiler room sucking up money.

Sorry if this is a conservative attitude coming from a liberal, but if the students are the ones who're going to maintain the school and what gets cleaned up, I say we should fire the janitorial service and put the money into more important stuff such as buying more textbooks or hiring back some of the decent staff.

The Plug does not currently have a regular priting schedule. When we receive a satisfactory amount of article submissions, we will print the next issue.
