S vs. S:

Silence stood as Sanity
Walked in and told him what to do
How to dress and act and think
Without upsetting status quo.

Silence stood as Sanity
Shouted and spit about the strange
Undignified and heathen things
That dared appear within his range.

Silence stood as Sanity
Gestured upon his platforms tall
While moralizing about views
He thought he could inflict on all.

Silence stood as Sanity
Closed up his ears with his own sound
Proclaimed all music atrophy
And sunk all art into the ground.

Silence stood as Sanity
Expounded on his learned state
Defaming those who came to know
That even intellect can hate.

Silence stood as Sanity
Raised up his glove with iron seams
And crushing silence by the throat
Out came a million screams.
