The Caroline Method

by Adam Sandman

Its like my father used to say
"Never get attached or they go away."
The scientist called me the other day
He said, "You will lead the way
Into places we've never gone
And things we've never done..."
And that's ok by me i and Caroline did it anyway
She wears T-shirt's and turpentine
So she's happy all the time
She colours the bus and the sign
She's makin' couples out of slime
Who put the writing in her head?
Who told her to slow when she sped?
Was it the women named Frankenstein?
Was she ok? Is she gonna be fine?
You come up to me with a smile
And now you wanna walk down the aisle
There is a bottle of a broken heart
Left with a wallet and a shopping cart
Stained with an ax and quaked apart
Come to the crime scene tonight
Between the paint and yellow-bright
She's on the floor, victim of the night
I kneel down, I scream in fright
"Couples are nothing without you..."
I'll kiss your soul when you want me to
Take me to the lighter view
Drop the rose and stain the dew
So when she leaves, take her good care
You may find it in debonair
She'll thank you when she's another pair
And she feels misplaced here and there
And further down the line
If you get sick when before you were fine
Take two pills quarter after nine
That's the way, the method of Caroline
