Hi, this is me. Who am I? I am Carey Johnson. I grew up in southeast Texas. I went to 2 years of college for computer programming, (BASIC, FORTRAN, COBOL, RPG, wanted to take PASCAL, and C language next but) ran out of money and joined the navy in 1986. My job? I am an AT (Aviation Electronics Technician). I work on Communication and Navigation systems for airplanes. I was stationed in Amarillo, Texas as a Navy Recruiter for almost 4 years. I am married and have a 13 year old daughter from my first wife named Krystina. My wife Joy has 2 boys ages 4 & 5, and we just had a baby named Tyler.I was stationed in Hawaii for 7 years so I learned to surf. I used to go surfing 3 times a week, and hiking to the tops of the mountins every other weekend. I deployed to Adak Alaska, Misawa Japan, and was stationed in Whidbey Is. Washington so I learned to snowboard. I went to New Hampshire to go snowboarding. I also deployed to Diego Garcia (British Indian Oceon Territory) BEUTIFUL place but you cant go there unless your in the military, isolated duty, not much to do. Primary transportation is bicycle. I used to rent a boat and go snorkling on the other side of the island. I was stationed in Puerto Rico. That place is also beutiful but I hated it there. The roads and consiquently the driving there are insane. It's scary to go anywhere. Can you say Third World, I thought you could. In the town I lived in you can for $2 catch a ferry over to some beutiful islands. Just a few miles from my house was a river that comes from the mountins in the rain forrest where you can jump from 40 foot rocks or slide down a natural water slide with a 5 foot drop at the end. Well I left there February 3rd, 1999. I've been in the Navy 16 years and never been on a ship. The Navy is sending me through a school for a Digatal Test Bench and then I'm going to San Diego to be on the USS Nimitz.

I see a lot of poetry on the net, and I just came across some of my poems so what the heck....

This is the very first poem I ever wrote. I wrote it for my friend and his girlfriend
who was a foriegn exchange student from Denmark. It's to the tune of Limelight by Rush.

SAY GOODBYE

Sitting in your lonely room,
thoughts of girls gone by,
of those who made you cry.
No matter how you think of it,
you've got to say goodbye.

Don't worry 'bout an audience.
I'm sure they'll all be there,
to here you cuss and sware.
If you want to end it now,
I'm sure they all won't care.

Don't you try and fool yourself.
Life ain't all that bad.
Dont lose the love you had.
I'm sure that what you're feeling now,
just might make us sad.

You can always try again,
to make yourself complete,
but we always compete.
If you want to prove yourself,
it's life you've got to beat.

Your whole life is still ahead,
looking down the road.
I'm sure you've must been told,
to make it on your own again,
you must be strong and bold.

Now that you have found yourself,
in this state of mind,
you try to be real kind.
Tell her that you think of her,
and give her piece of mind.

Far away she lives right now,
but still she's on your mind.
You sit at night and think of her,
and how you're left behind.

Sitting in your lonely room,
thoughts of girls gone by,
of those who made you cry.
No matter how you think of her,
you had to say goodbye.

PAUSE

Sometimes
when life gets so hectic
and I don't know what to do
I'd like to press PAUSE...
'till I'm not so confused.

                     Carey S. Johnson

I wonder if a whale
thinks about walking on land
...oh the lush valleys
and majestic mountin peaks

To breath the air
and feel the sun
and watch it set
when day is done

To smell a rose
to feel the rain
and watch the clouds
come and come again

But if I touch the land
surely I will die
I can only come so close
and jump so high

To see what I will never experience.

                     Carey S. Johnson
