Piano Craft Guild Tenants Association
(at the Piano Factory!)

We are the Tenants of the Piano Factory, in Boston's historic South End district. This website gives brief biographical information on current and former inhabitants of this unique artist live/work building, and information on our ongoing struggle with the landlord to preserve the spaces. More than 100 artists of all disciplines still currently live here, and we continue to MAKE ART in the midst of serious encroachments on the integrity of the community here. "The True Story..." is a good place to start; it tells how the current rent struggle came about. "Who's Who" is just that: current and former residents (and if you can fill in any blanks for us, please do! Thanks are due to Marjorie McDermott for maintaining this.) "Chronology" gives the seminal events since November 1995 when the landlord illegally tried to evict 174 tenant families at once (kudos to Robert Deveau, David Mynott, and Thom Donovan for principal authorship.) "Newsletters" are copies of newsletters distributed to our members of the Piano Craft Guild Tenant Association, going back 'a ways' as they say. "T-Shirt": reproduction of the classic "No Greed" t-shirt we have for sale to bolster our legal defense fund. Please buy one (plug.)
