James Baker, Master Carpenter. He runs his own business which he inherited from his father. He presently lives in Newburyport with his wife, Parkie Jones and their daughter, Lily.

Ed Bennett, Design construction. At present, a work-study student at the Boston Architectural Center, he continues work on a feasibility study for a new Arts High School Pilot Program under the auspices of the Pro Arts Consortium in Boston.

Annette M. Brown, Dancer and choreographer. Ms Brown has been a soloist, ballet master, and choreographer with Billy Wilson and the National Center for Afro- American Artists (NCAAA). She was a soloist with the Danny Sloan Dance Company. She played Mary in the television production of Black Nativity. Presently, she is ballet mistress and soloist for the Talley Beatty Dance Company.
Nancy Baptist, A multi-media artist whose abstract, feminist work combines traditional African objects like masks and beads with modern items like wire mesh, flags, lace and bricks. She has extensive credits as artist-in-residence, program director, and exhibiting artist. She is currently involved with the Karantonha Steering Committee, which presents Cape Verdean art.
Marla Blakley, A Piano Factory resident from 1974 to 1980, Ms Blakley was the founding choreographer of the Marla Blakley Dance Troupe. She now lives in Los Angeles and choreographs for TV specials and such notable artists as Donna Summer.
Patsy Finney Boros, For many years an elementary school teacher in the Boston Public Schools, she garnered several private and public grants to supplement the arts education of those children as city and state arts funds dwindled. She and her husband have moved to her family home in Florida.
Steven Boros, Painter, etcher, video ace, design consultant, and muralist. He was employed by the Lyons Group's Lansdowne Street clubs. He etched the glass vitrines in Boston's historic Durgin Park, located at Faneuil Hall Market. Mr Boros currently lives in Orlando, Florida, where he produces murals and trompe-l'oeil for restaurants, clubs and residents. He is also working at Disney World as a consultant on the design of the Boardwalk theme area.
Christopher Brooks, Guitarist, composer, Mr Brooks follows in the footsteps of his illustrious grandfather, Cab Calloway. He is also blazing musical trails of his own in New York City.
Annette Browne, A prolific painter, who presented a show annually in her many years at The Piano Factory, Ms Browne has exhibited extensively throughout New England and is widely represented in public, private and corporate collections. She was a 1981 finalist and a 1983 semi-finalist for the Massachusetts Artists' Foundation grant. Before her art supported her, she supported her art for 14 years as a waitress at IHOP. She currently resides in Maine.
Kenneth Budd, Producer and star of a drawing demonstration show seen on Community Access stations in Boston, Cambridge and Brookline, Mr Budd also teaches anatomical drawing at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. A former student at the Art Students' League in New York City and Provincetown's Cape Cod School, he has exhibited widely throughout the country.
Ralph W. Bullowa, Artist. Succumbed to complications of AIDS in 1992.
Frankie Bunyard, Long-time resident Frankie Bunyard was a specialist in the ancient art and craft of stonecutting, woodcarving, gold-leafing, and calligraphy. Her works can be seen throughout the city in municipal and university settings, among others. She was commissioned to carve the commemorative stone disc for the new Faneuil Hall Market. She presented several shows at the Gallery at the Piano Factory. Yclept "The Mayor of the Piano Factory," she worked devotedly for the Artists therein. She died of a brain tumor.
Russ Brami, In September, 2001, Russ writes: I lived at the Piano Factory from 1975 to 1977. I built computer controlled sculpture. I have also done cartography and medical illustration. I am now an interaction designer for Scansoft, a software company in Peabody. I now live in Lexington.

Don Byron, Said to be one of the finest clarinetists of his generation. Christopher Lydon calls him "the left-wing of the leading edge, [inducing us] to re-think what 'musics' are". Classically trained, he first gained international prominence in the Klezmer Conservatory Band, founded by Gunther Schuller at the New England Conservatory. He also plays the music of his Afro-Cuban heritage. His jazz is far from any fixed conception of the idiom. He performed locally at Jordan Hall, with selections from his latest CD, Music for 6 Musicians, on the Nonesuch label. |
