Last week also brought probably -- hopefully -- the last “who’s going to take me to the prom?” flick for a while, Drive Me Crazy, starring Melissa Joan Hart from “Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.” (Just once wouldn’t you like to see something like “Sabrina, the Teenage Third-World Dictator”?) Of the whole crop of such things, this is probably the most lightweight, despite trying to make a few perfunctory nods toward nonconformity by featuring the obligatory gay kid and making fun of jocks. It’s like an episode of some 50s cardigan sitcom such as “Father Knows Best,” but with a single mom, and some rude language and barfing. D
