For completists who had to see all three movies in the From Dusk Til Dawn cycle, add this documentary about what went on behind the scenes in the first film. FDTD star George Clooney and co-star (and writer) Quentin Tarantino come across like reasonably well-adjusted, likable people, but the real story is all the production personnel – assistant directors, grips, craft service, makeup FX crew, stuntmen and -women, personal assistants, etc. – who soldiered through wilting desert heat and the looming threat of a Teamsters strike against their non-union indie shoot. Most folks will likely find this stuff boring, but anyone who’s interested either in the offscreen technical, personal, and political ramifications of filmmaking or the intuitive methodology of FDTD’s wunderkind director Robert Rodriguez may want to give it a look.
