Kathump

Do you ever notice things going ka-thump-bump in the night? And the lights are out and the moon is new...something stumbling out and about until you hear the shout and scream and really mean it. Barking canines out and about and then the shout like something was seen and really mean it. Footsteps, not frightened, but determined, and bang-bang-ka-bang until the something in the dark is bared and stark in the flashlit night revealing a someone cloaked in bloody shadow and ow,ow,ow. Do you ever see the batteries burn out before identity can be checked? And, while you're rummaging around for another means of illumination, that someone sneaks off to further redden your front lawn. Go on, you've got a few more shells and, if it goes bump-bump-ka-thump, you know you can counter the noise with your own.
