CARVINGS

Here are some projects that I have designed & carved recently and in the past & was able to get pictures of.
The two portals were carved from old designs, that of course I did not design.

A newell post that has carvings on each of the faces and one on the top of the turning.

Latest "work in progress" project just finished and waiting for some better pictures. This is a "paint grade" Rococco mantel that was installed in huge house around the Bellevue, WA area. I'll get the finished pic's up here when I get them.

Well I finally got this box back. It has been on tour for the last two years as a part of the "Norwegian Folk Art - the Migration of a Tradition" tour that went from the USA to Norway.

This is a birch mantel & over mantel that was done for a customer in Seattle, WA.

A French Rococco mantel clock carved out of Nordic birch. Still needs a movement for it. TIP-O-THE DAY: Buy the guts before you build the piece! (I measured off one in Europe).
This will end up being painted & gold leafed when I get it finished.

Acanthus ornament carved on the front & top of this birch chest.
This was made for a lady in Ballard, WA

This is the lower section of a stave chirch portal in Norway.
I will have to translate the story that these pictures tell & put it up at a later date. :-)

This is a lower section of an entry portal from the "Urnes" stave chirch, also located in Norway.
I will post more information about this unique style of carving at a later date. :-) In the meantime, you can check out the original here.

Well, that's it for now. I'll get some more pic's up here later.
