Elysium is the spirit world, specifically that part of the afterlife where ordinary departed spirits reside after the deaths of their mortal bodies. Neither so enamoured of wickedness that they sink to the depths nor so spiritually enlightened that they rise to the higher levels, they are people whose worst fault is an unthinking attachment to the trappings of the material world. In Elysium they continue to live in the manner they had as mortals, although many older spirits have adopted at least some of the gifts of later technologies.
I have written a number of stories set in Elysium, and have done some drawings to go with them. Lacey Beauregard is one of the principal characters of many of them. She is an artist, formerly of New Orleans and now making her home in Port of White Fleet.
