Here are the photos taken at my trip to the U.S. in May 1999
Kansas
City Tour
There are more than 1000 fountains in Kansas City. This is the grandest one, at the entrance of the plaza. |
You
may notice the Spanish style in the acrhitecture at the plaza.
Seville, Spain, is Kansas City's sister city. |
Opposite
UMKC there was a big art gallery. That was the first time I visited one
outside of Malaysia.
There was so much to see and I had only 2 hours before closing time. I was particularly facinated by the Henry Moore collection. Also, there was an original ancient Buddha murial (complete with the stone wall) from Tibet. Must have been 2 storey high and 3 shoplot across. |
The
Roselle Cafe in the galery. It was very romantic.
Pitty it was closed when I got there. |
. |
A
real Henry Moore! I never thought I could ever touch one.
There was a sulpture garden with many HM's work exhibited. This one is called "The sheep" (or something). You may not be able to tell the size here, I think it could have been more than 15 feet high |
