( Two Concerts at Great Hall A.C.C. ) The Cairo Symphony Orchestra continues its tradition of offering the Alexandrian school children the opportunity to experience live performances of classical music. For this purpose we have chosen a combination of works composed especially for the young listener and other works which can have an appeal to them. Monday 8 November 1999 11.00 a.m. B. Rimsky-Korsakov: Sheherezade, Symphonic Suite op. 35 Narrator: to be announced Conductor: Piotr Wijatkowski Price Category G Piotr Wijatkowski The Polish conductor Piotr Wijatkowski studied conducting in Warsaw and Vienna. Since 1992 he is the conductor of the Lublin State Philharmonic with which he toured Sweden, Germany and Holland. His CD recordings include works of Musorgsky, Ravel and Tchaikovsky. Bizet: "L'Arlesienne" Grande Suite No. 1 and 2 Conductor: Amin Guven Yaslicam Price Category G Emin Guven Yaslicam Emin Guven Yaslicam started his musical career with studying orchestral conduction and composition. Later on he specialized in conducting. In 1983 he was chosen as the most successful conductor of the year. He is the founder of several musical institutions and jury member in various competitions. He used to perform in many international music festival. One of his main intentions is to introduce young musicians to the scene and to bring the works of Turkish composers to a broader international audience. |
