The College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State
University invites applications for six assistant professor positions
beginning Fall semester 2004.
The Department of Telecommunication, Information Studies and Media seeks
a faculty member who can teach in the area of Communication Media and
Society (emphasizing new and emerging media and technologies).
Professor Bradley Greenberg (bradg@msu.edu) is the Chair of the Search
Committee, and applications will be reviewed as received.
The TISM Department also seeks a faculty member for a fixed-term
appointment that may be converted to a tenure-track position. This
person would teach in the area of Digital Media Arts (e.g., interactive
multimedia design, web design, video and audio production, compositing
and effects, 3D graphics design, game design, human-computer
interaction). Assistant Professor Brian Winn (winnb@msu.edu) is the
Chair of the Search Committee, and review of applications begins January
12, 2004.
The Department of Communication seeks two faculty members with strong
background in quantitative research who can teach in the areas of [1]
Communication Theory and Research (organizational, relational, social
influence, health communication) and [2] Mass Communication (effects,
audience responses, media systems). Professors Bradley Greenberg and
Sandi Smith are the Co-Chairs of the Search Committee, and review of
applications begins November 8, 2003.
The Department of Advertising seeks a faculty member with strong
research and scholarly interests who can teach core advertising courses.
Professor Nora Rifon is the Chair of the Search Committee, and review of
applications begins November 17, 2003.
The School of Journalism seeks a faculty member to teach broadcast news,
introduction to mass media and other courses at the graduate and
undergraduate levels. Professor Darcy Greene is the Chair of the Search
Committee, and review of applications begins November 1, 2003.
