Vote Joseph Oddo US House of Representatives 11th District

This is an Independent campaign for the citizens of our community who trust that their vote will count.  We are working to reverse the apathy of voters in the early 21st Century - before we completely lose to the monied special interests, big media and elites who control politics with pursestrings.  We are asking for four $24 contributions to this campaign in the next 10 months.  Manpower such as letter stuffing and telephoning, or putting up signs and working the polls is welcome. We are requesting your ideas, comments, and suggestions on legislative issues that you want addressed.  E-mail a request for an initial policy summary, or forward your own opinion, so that we - the hardworking, taxpaying citizens - can determine the issues in our community.

We must induce people and institutions to think in terms of the long range future, not just in terms of their short range self-interest.       We must encourage people to develop their own visions of the future and move more effectively toward them.       We must judge whether new technologies are socially useful and use those judgements to shape our society.       We must induce our government and other institutions to practice fiscal responsibility.       We must make the quality of life, rather than open-ended economic growth, the focus of our future thinking. -this represents one of the Ten Key Values of the Green Party.

Pass the word to bring five people to the polls with you in November 2004 to cast a vote against the ruling political establishment.     Joe Oddo is running in for the US House of Representatives as an Independent candidate from the 11th District.  He has nothing specific against the Republicans or Democrats, except that there is very little difference among them.  We believe no elected official should stay in office more than twelve years.  After that they become stagnate and fail to pursue a progressive legislative agenda, in turn causing citizens to quit voting.

Not since the time of Martin Luther King has there been a movement that moved our nation closer to the cultural diversity and tolerance that we enjoy now.  Especially here in Northern Virginia. We have so much diversity, it serves to help educate us all on the richness of an open society.  But if you believe the press we are always on the verge of racial tensions and ethnic distrust.  These theories are completely false, and only propagated to generate treasured ratings for the "big" media.       This is a media that ignores issues that are counter to the government propaganda machines that beat the war drums for our oil-rich royal families who conspire to achieve the ultimate "elitist" class domination. Take the so-called war on drugs for instance.  We fail to win because one proven method of keeping the masses submissive is a steady drug flow. We, the voters, have become complacent (letting the media report that Gore won Florida even before the polls there closed); tolerant of the corruption (it took the FBI 38 years to convict one of the Birmingham church bombers); and oblivious to the gross misuse of power and special interests (the Clintons, Enron, Bush's stonewalling the 9/11 commission etc.).      E-mail us to offer your support or opinions.  Please cast a vote for our New Independent Party.

IT IS NOT ABOUT GETTING RE-ELECTED     It is the first victory that will get us recognized and bring the public along to a more open democracy - as originally envisioned by our forefathers.  And one where the power of the Internet will neutralize the monopoly of power by the old "elite" guard.      It is no coincidence that Gore's father was a US Senator, Bush's father was head of the CIA.  Nixon had ties to the mafia.  J. Edgar Hoover ran his own scare campaign, starting the blacklisting of anti-establishment types like myself - a practice that still goes on today.     Do not think of us as another radical, fringe party movement. Joe Oddo is an average income, hardworking, taxpaying family citizen like the rest of you.  Unfortunately too much has been lost by the missed opportunities of third parties that have come along in the last 20 years.  From Perot in 1992, to Nader in 2000 good efforts got derailed by the media that controls the agenda.  The worse part is they actually control who wins elections as well.  Check out what our friends at Votescam.com have discovered.      Please vote on November 2 and every election.  And if you do cast a vote for our candidate, please e-mail us to assist in getting an accurate count.  This is just the beginning.

Our New Independent Green Party will change the status quo of politics.  We will not be sponsored by the controlling corporate interests that dominate the two major political parties in the US.  We believe in the following: -our government should be the voice of our population, so citizen input should be the way we draft legislation. -the right to individual freedom and expression, and limited government intrusion in our lives.  -fair, not currently oppressive taxation.  -future planning should be balanced with sound environmental policy. -long-term incumbency puts elected officials out of touch, therefore terms should be limited to 8 years in the House and 12 years in the Senate. -corporate political contributions should be limited in order to avoid unfair influence by affluent special interests.
