The youngest and newest member of Mycroft Holmes is drummer Ben Broadwater. Ben is currently studying percussion at Towson University as a Music Ed major. Ben creates a sound onstage that he has derived from a variety of sources. His influences are anything from phenom studio drummer Dennis Chambers to former Primus drummer Tim "The Herb" Alexander. He also combines the classic rock beats of John Bonham with ska and funk elements. Ben plays a five piece mahogany wood finish Pearl Export Select (old lugs). In the cymbal department, it's Zildjian all the way around. Ben wouldn't have it any other way. "To be the best, you gotta play with the best." And that's what Ben wants to be. With aspirations of taking Mycroft Holmes as far as possible, Ben will stop at nothing to make his dream of becoming a rock star a reality. No doubt, the energy of the rhythm section of Mycroft Holmes is unmatchable. |
