The first thing I'm putting on this page is a
list of glazes that I have collected/used at
various workshops and at the Arts Council Studio
where I teach classes and work on pottery. As
I said, most of these I have used or for some I
have seen being used by instructors, or fellow
potters. As with all glaze formulas, be sure to
run tests to your kiln and situation. I have no
idea who any original glaze originators are, or
I would give them credit for their hard work.
After the glazes there will be some "fun things"
to do with clay followed by other useful
information.

DON'T THROW IT OUT
REPAIR THAT POT
Do you ever need to repair a crack in a pot, or a
broken or chipped pot? I'm talking wet, leather,
bone, bisque, glazed---the whole run of the gauntlet.
Well, I have recently been introduced to a product
that does just that! It is called "Slik-Fix"and is
produced by Circle H Enterprises. A local ceramics
dealer who carries underglazes, low-fire glazes, etc.
had some and told me, about it. It really works.
It's a real FIND!
There are some potters,
I guess, somewhere,
who never
have a crack,
or broken, and
always do things just right,
but that's not me. I learn the hard way and by
watching others. I have had some help along the way,
but I believe the true art of pottery comes from within
and from time and more time! A work of clay reflects the
spirit of the potter.
