Transitions

Gnawing, twisting,
    tearing guilt

Breeds anger,
As it rasps on mangled bone.
Gnarled fingers wrapped
    'round inner flesh,

Rend tissue in a
Bloodless,
    throbbing

Severance of
Morbid fiber.
Deep within howl
Agonizing screams of
Terror and
    distress as

Flesh is yanked by
Handfuls, cast off to
Putrefy.
Sadness.
Masked only by the
Stench of
Rotted flesh of
Time.

    Eons pass

Before
Cascading waves as
Cleansing waters
Flush the
Inner self of
Deep remorse.
Flowing streams of
Grief rush by as
Tides recede
Carrying away all
Suffering.
Spiritual showers
Rinse sorrow
From within and
Cleanse the way
    for new

Tomorrows.
