Mist
The mist rolls in from the wild, rolling sea,
and the woman turns to salt
looking back to the places
where the cities and the cages await.
The mist rolls down from the high mountain forests,
and the woman turns to flesh
looking into the places
where the shadows meet the golden light.
The mist rolls up from the canyons and the rivers,
and the woman turns to spirit
looking back at the wild eyes
where the eagle flies and the flesh and spirit meet.
