All things are one
- This we know: All things are connected like the blood that unites us. We did not weave the web of life, we are merely a strand in it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.
-
-- Chief Seattle, at the end of the last century, as his people were forced off their lands in the Pacific Northwest
That simple notion -- everything we are and everything we have is derived from Nature -- is fading from our awareness. Modern society isolates and insulates not just from each other, but from Nature as well. Humankind is one -- and one with all life.
'Tis a gift to be simple, 'tis a gift to be free
Solace, comfort, peace, joy, wonder -- gifts of Nature. I am most at home off-trail in a wild area. A part of me catalogues the plants, birds, animals, insects. Another part is lost -- or should I say found? -- in wonderment. I invite you to join me on some of my wanderings -- have a look at my writings.
