ave I mentioned how much I love my new job?  Well, I guess I can’t really call it “new” anymore, since I’ve been here for three months now, and that seems to be the average lifespan for an employee at anything related to electronics or dot-coms.  I still feel totally lost, though – of course, I felt lost after six years of being at my old job.

Amazingly, I think I have been productive.  I won’t go as far as to say that I’ve done more in my three months here than my six years you-know-where, but it’s at least as much as the first one or two years.  Granted, I was fresh out of school then, and dumped the whole way across the country to boot, but I already feel like I belong.

Of course, the stock options could have something to do with that, too….

Seriously, I love what I’m doing.  And the people here are great – they seem a lot more real than some of the droids I used to work with.  And they give me candy, too.  I still have to work on the donuts issue, though.

I don’t think the people here actually know how good they have it.  I’ve heard people complaining about the food that was served at meetings – not realizing how cool it is that anything is served at all.  Or how they wish they were working on something more exciting.  Personally, I can’t really imagine a job any better than this, at least not in the real world.  It’s not perfect, but it’s pretty close.

Now if I didn’t have to get out of bed in the morning, that would be perfect.
