Dutch Quiltersguild National Exhibition 2000: Breda

This year's exhibition will be held in Breda and this year the show will have an extra theme. In 2000, we celebrate the existence of 400 years of trade relations between Holland and Japan. This means there will be both regular quilts and quilts with either a Dutch or a Japanese theme.
Below you will find a FAQ in which some practical questions about the exhibition will be answered.

FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions):

When is the Dutch Quiltersguild National Exhibition?
Where is it?
What can I see and do there?
How do I get there?
Where can I get more information?

When is the exhibition?

This year's exhibition will be held from Monday September 25th until Tuesday October 4th. It is opened daily from 10 am until 5 pm o'clock, except for the first Monday when it will be opened from noon until 5 pm.

Where is the exhibition?

This year's exhibition is held in the Grote Kerk (or Onze Lieve Vrouwe Kerk) in Breda, a town in the south-west of the Netherlands, near the Belgian border. The Grote Kerk is located on the Kerkplein on the corner of the Grote Markt, approximately 8 minute walk from the Central Station.

What can I see and do there?

Firstly, the exhibition shows recent work made by its members. Secondly there will be demonstrations of different techniques and a number os shops will sell their fabrics. There is also a possibility to register for a workshop with the famous German quiltster Bärbel Grünewald.

How do I get there?

The best way to get to the exhibition is by public transport. It is very hard to park your car in the immediate vicinity of the church, and the railway station is closeby. Breda has excellent links to the rest of Holland via rail. For more information, visit the NS (Dutch National Railways) website.
