Don't Feel offended by this page it's all in good taste
Malta Blob 2 - Political Satire from Malta
Updated: 19/7/98
This page contains scans from Maltese newspapers which include silly
things related to Maltese politics (both sides don't worry it isn't
intended to offend, it's all in good taste like striscia).
A paper is also
printing some funny fakes related to Maltese politics and I might be
scanning some of them, remember these are not true photos. Fakes will
be indicated.
The government has adjourned parliament to next
October 26th 1998, however by that date it said the budget will be
approved. How is it possible for parliament to approve anything without
meeting? The mind boggles...

Viva Mintoff - The guy shouted
"Viva Mintoff" on the 200th anniversary of the French invasion of Malta (a
silly thing to celebrate, your country's invasion, anyway, but since we're
Maltese we do these things. From the paper "A funny thing happened on the way to the French invasion
of Malta reinactment. As French troops were skirmishing with the
insurgents at the Mdina Ditch, a Maltese man, dressed in 20th
century clothes, suddenly ran out between the opposing fighting troups,
and shouting 'Viva Mintoff' ran across no-man's land between the opposing
sides.".
-
The Sant Clause - Probably the first Maltese
fake produced where politics is concerned at least. Shows the "Three Brothers"
(not really brothers, but supposedly partners) or the "Tre Magi" (Three
Wise Kings) Sant, Abela and Vella. Only now they are no longer on good terms
as they have disagreed on the controversial measures of this government.
