Everyone in vests

In July, Rockapella had done a concert at Five Islands Park in New Rochelle, which was the first time I had ever seen them live. My mother and I went, neither of us knowing anymore about them than what we saw on "Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?"
In Five Islands Park, two new Rockapella fanatics were born. So when we found out that they were doing a "real concert" at Town Hall in NYC, Mom ran out and bought tickets.
We sat in the third row, the "Gold Circle." Which was very cool, since this was the best seat I had ever had at any concert in my life.

killer style. Love the vests.

Is that Kenneth Branagh doing vocal pecussion? Hmm...

That night, we were treated to rocking show, including "I Like You Very Much," "Ellie," and "Long Cool Woman." They did "Nowhere." I have loved that song to this day.
During "Pretty Woman," Scott jumped down into the audience to find one lucky lady to join them on stage. They propped her up on a stool and charmed the pants off of her and the rest of us. I told myself right then and there that someday it would be me who got chosen.

Being Gold Circle ticketholders meant we were cordially invited to mingle at the after-party. We were even given those little lanyard necklaces with a VIP pass attached to it (yes, I still have mine).
Once there, we met the guys, who were incredibly gracious. Although Barry made an early exit since his wife had just gone into labor. We also met Elliott's brother, to whom we complained about the difficulty of getting ahold of the albums in the US (at that time, they were only available in Japan). He commiserated and then asked for our address, saying he'd see what he could do.
I left that night a fully initiated Rockapella fan.

"Zombie Jamboree,"
old school

About a month after the concert, a cassette tape arrived in the mail containing the first two Rockapella albums that had been released in Japan. Also inside was note signed "A Fellow Rockapella Fan." If Elliott's brother happens through here, thank you.  (SJE)
